Le tirage du 27e championnat du monde de Handball a eu lieu le 5 septembre au Caire en Égypte..
La sélection a hérité d’un groupe compliqué lors du tirage au sort du tour initial du Handball World Championship 2021. Elle sera accompagnée de l’Espagne, le Brésil et la Pologne. Sami Saïdi aura du travail pour remobiliser l’effectif après l’échec lors du Championnat d’Afrique des Nations, finaliste face à l’Égypte (27-23) et devra enchaîner avec le TQO au mois de mars 2021.
