En difficultés sportives et financières, le Club Africain et son président Abdesselem Younsi ont fait un choix fort en ce début de saison. Une large liste de joueurs « indésirables » a été établie et un bras de fer s’est installé avec eux pour mettre fin à leurs contrats avec le CA. Si les dernières négociations ont abouti à quelques accords avec Atef Dkhili, Wissam Yahia et plus récemment Saber Khlifa, Bilel Iffa pour reprendre les entraînements avec le groupe, quatre joueurs sont priés de trouver d’autres points de chute : il s’agit de Zouheir Dhaouedi, Seifeddine Charfi, Mehdi Ouedherfi et Hamza Agrebi.
Lassaâd Dridi devrait composer avec un noyau de jeunes joueurs, en plus des recrues algériennes qui ont rejoint l’équipe en début du mercato. Ceci dit, le club est toujours interdit de recrutement, et ne peut pas encore qualifier ces nouveaux joueurs. D’après les dernières informations du parc A, certains litiges sont réglés, d’autres sont en cours de négociations… mais à quelques semaines du coup d’envoi de la saison 2020-21, la situation n’est pas très rassurante au club de Beb Jedid…
