Avec cinq victoires et deux nuls, l’équipe roumaine est la première à être qualifiée pour disputer la phase finale des qualifications entre les groupes C et D.
En l’absence de l’arrière tunisien, Amine Bennour, nos deux autres internationaux ont sorti un grand match. Kamel Alouini a fait un (2/2), mais c’est surtout le portier Makrem Missaoui qui a permis à son équipe de rester dans le match et l’emporter sur le fil face au Suisse (27-26).
