La joueuse tunisienne Ons JABEUR a gagné 8 places au classement WTA publié ce matin. Elle est classée 53ème, après sa très belle performance au tournois chinois de Tianjin (110 points et 30 milles $ de gains). Jabeur s'est fait éliminée en demi finale par la future vainqueur, la suédoise Peterson. Le classement mondial est toujours dominé par l'australienne Ashleigh BART.

Cette belle progression est venue récompensée l’excellent parcours de la tunisienne lors des derniers tournois. Ons Jabeur se rapproche de son meilleur classement des simples dames (51ème, le 9 Septembre 2019), et elle pourrait très bien l’atteindre en cas de bonne performance au tournois de Moscou, en Russie.

Elle jouera, dès demain, au premier tour face à la russe Veronika Kudermetova, classée au 42ème rang du classement WTA. Leur dernier et unique face à face a tourné en faveur de la russe au tournois néerlandais de Hertogenbosch (6-3,6-4).
