Au bout d’un match maîtrisé, L’Espérance Sportive de Tunis a ajouté la Coupe au Championnat après sa victoire par 3 sets à zéro (25-19, 25-19, 25-23) face à un CSS qui n’est pas parvenu à rentrer dans son match...

La 5ème confrontation en finale de coupe entre ces deux écoles de volley-ball tunisien fut d’un niveau technique correct pour un contexte d’avant-saison et vit le CSS démarrer le premier set en force, emmené en cela par Ilyes Karamosli et Ali Bangui (qui avait fait forte impression en finale de championnat devant le même adversaire), avant de céder face à la fougue de Aymen Karoui et l’intelligence de jeu des Khaled Ben Slimane et Amen Allah Hmissi (25-19)

Le 2ème set verra l’Espérance confirmer son élan tout en commettant moins de fautes que son adversaire qui, malgré un léger mieux (grâce notamment à l’apport de la petite révélation Arbi Ben Abdallah, le substitute de Bangui), accusera un écart important (16-10) avant de finalement s’incliner par le même score (25-19)

Le 3ème set fut, lui, plus disputé : Le CSS (qui se devait absolument de réagir), et sous l’impulsion du vétéran Ismaïl Moalla, donnera un temps l’impression d’être enfin rentré dans le match (9-9), avant de voir l’Espérance mettre la vitesse supérieure (16-11) grâce notamment à l’inévitable Hicham Kâabi mais aussi à des jeunes mis en confiance comme Med Ali Ben Othmane. Revenu à (22-20), le CSS égalisera à (23-23) mais verra les hommes de l’italo-serbe Ljubomir Travica conclure sans trembler (25-23)

Beaux vainqueurs, les Sang & Or s’offrent ainsi le doublé (le 12ème de l’histoire du club et le 3ème consécutif) au bout d’une saison challengeante ayant vu un bon mix entre jeunes et joueurs confirmés… Les joueurs du CSS (qui ont semblé crispés mentalement) peuvent, eux, regretter leur entrée très tardive dans le match.
